BF Welch, who for the past 10 years has been custodian of the Masonic Temple, passed away at his home on East Jefferson Street Thursday night at 12:30. No especial cause is given for his death other than that of old age. Mr. and Mrs. Welch had journeyed to Waynetown Thursday to visit with friends and relatives and returned to this city on the evening train. At 8:30 when Mr. Welch retired for the night, he was feeling as well as usual and according to his son, he was in his customary good spirits. About midnight Mrs. Welch was awakened by the heavy breathing of her husband and before medical aid could reach the home Mr. Welch had passed away. BF Welch is very well known in this city and his many friends will be sorry to learn of his death. He had been connected with the Masonic Temple for a long time and was very well liked. At the time of his death Mr. Welch was 68 and would have reached his 69th birthday on the 26th of this month had he lived. The deceased is survived by his widow, two children, Floyd Welch of Linden and Mrs. John Lynch east of this city. He is also survived by two brothers, John Welch of this city and Nate Welch of Omaha, Neb and a sister, Mrs. John Grenard of Waynetown. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Masonic Temple and will be in charge of the Masonic lodge. Burial will be made in the Wesley Cemetery west of here. - transcribed by kbz
